The AP Microeconomics exam
AP Microeconomics Exam Tuesday, May 4, 2027
Format
| Section | Questions | Time | Share of score |
|---|---|---|---|
| I: Multiple Choice | 60 | 70 minutes | 66.65% |
| II: Free Response | 3 | 60 minutes | 33.35% |
A four-function calculator is allowed on both sections. The free-response time includes a reading period before you start writing.
The 3 free-response questions
- Question 1. Long. The long question: one scenario with several parts, worth twice as much as each short question.
- Question 2. Short. A short question, a smaller scenario with fewer parts.
- Question 3. Short. A second short question, set on its own scenario.
Across the three questions College Board names four kinds of task: making assertions, explaining why an outcome happens, numerical analysis, and drawing graphs or other visuals. When a question says to draw a correctly labeled graph, every axis and every curve needs a label.
Multiple-choice weighting by unit
