Decision Matrix

Real business decisions trade money against other things that matter. Set how much each criterion is worth, score both options, and read the recommendation the numbers support. Then change one weight and see whether the decision flips.

Challenges

  1. In the gym decision, the app loses 50 to 62. Find the fewest weight changes that make it win, and say what the gym would have to value for the app to be the right choice.
  2. Write the recommendation as a paragraph: name the criteria, compare the options on each, and say which trade-off decided it.
  3. Set the ROI weight to 5 and every other weight to 1, so the decision rests mostly on return on investment. Does any of the three recommendations change? Why might a business still not decide on ROI alone?
